Jez started his first business in 1994, focusing on the performance of elite sports teams and individuals. His clients included Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough FC and he was also selected to work with national squads across a number of sports: GB Rowing, GB Diving and England Cricket Teams. Jez’s goal was simple: to get the best out of each individual and the team as a whole, a philosophy he still adheres to today.

In 2003, Jez founded the one-to-one specialist coaching company, Akindred Executive Coaching. He also wrote and published his best selling book, ‘The Handbook for Exceptional People’ (Macmillan 2008).

Akindred’s success led Jez to team up with David Whitaker OBE at Performance Consultants, where he took up his current role of CEO.

His work has spread across many sectors, from the global banking and financial world to smaller SMEs in the consultancy and service sectors, as well as high profile personalities from the entertainment and sports worlds.

Through his work within the Private Wealth arena Jez was approached by a number of Family Offices to work with a mix of trustees, family members and beneficiaries to help them with a variety of issues. This work has instigated the creation of Jez Cartwright Ltd where Jez’s focus is purely on providing support services to help individuals and families navigate their way through the trials and tribulations of their unique situations.
